Keen Acres is where I'd rather be.

If I can, I will write this blog to chronicle the finishing of our home at Keen Acres.

I say finishing because the building is up, the apartment infrastructure is built, but plumbing and electrical connections need to be made and walls need to be finished. Not to mention doors, light fixtures, wall sockets, counters, cupboards, sinks... and other minor items.

Here is the view from my easy chair.  You can see that most dry wall is up, Steve had to take some parts down because the one builder didn't put insulation in the wall between the apartment and machine shop.  This is vital because the machines make a LOT of noise.  We had told him to put that insulation in.... but he was cutting corners.  (We no longer hire that guy)

On the brighter side, I love the view from the bed.  It may just look like I took a picture of a bunch of phone poles, and it isn't the best quality of photo, but the point is that... All I see is space!
What the low quality of photo doesn't allow you to see is the natural prairie grasses swaying in the morning breeze.  It does look like "amber waves of grain".  There is a big cottonwood tree along the creek bed.... it is behind the window post and label in this photo.  It reminds me of the "Horse Tree" at Misty Acres.
The fact that I can sit up in bed in the morning and watch the sun rise over the horizon is wonderful to me.  We also get to enjoy listening to more birds and watching bunnies playing in the grass and morning sunshine.

Our old bedroom was a small dark room with no air flow and almost nonfunctional windows.  And those windows had no view... the side of the car in the driveway through one, and the fence and a messy bush through the other.
This bedroom window in conjunction with others provides great air flow.  (very helpful when the inside of this place smells like drywall and joint compound)
